Passwords can only be changed via the HDA dashboard. Otherwise it will break the HDA integration between samba and linux users.

We are working on a password reset script for this purpose, but no estimate as to when it will be done. Unfortunately if you cannot access the dashboard with any user, you may be stuck.

I brought my amahi machine back online but forgot my admin password. I know the root password so I used the wiki here to reset it:
https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Reset_Amahi_Password

This successfully reset the password through puTTY but not through the dashboard. Did I do something wrong? From the wiki I believed it would allow me to use the HDA Dashboard.

I followed the instructions on the wiki guide again. Worked this time. Last time I deleted the apostrophes around user name in the second line of code. n00b error. Thanks
