SOLVED: Trouble installing new drives

Postby tomtheappraiser » Fri Feb 06, 2015 2:20 pm

OK, I haven't even got past the 1st command of adding my drives and already have a problem.
Using this wiki: https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Adding_Hard_Drives_101

I entered the first line, logged in as root:
ls -l /dev/disks/by-uuid/ > before.txt
I get:
ls: cannot access /dev/disks/by-uuid/: No such file or directory

Sorry about that. It should be disk and not disks.

How did the tutorial work? I am interested in your feedback on if it was simple or too complicated. I am trying to simplify it for users who have little or no Linux skills.
