OK, I typed that in exactly and I get
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Can you copy and paste the text? You may have missed something as I thoroughly tested the procedure and it worked.

I presume you are doing this as root user or with sudo. It requires elevated privileges.

THAT WORKED!!!

I finally learned about SSH and just copied and pasted it into Putty.

Seriously, I appreciate your patience.

I consider myself an advanced user on Windows systems, but this is like learning a foreign language for me.
