Browsing the HDA from a Galaxy S3

Postby Strata700 » Fri Aug 15, 2014 7:15 am

How do you browse your server files when connected via VPN (openvpn) ?

I followed the Android instructions on the wiki to connect have a padlock and connection established on the phone so am successfully connected.

As I have tried this in the past and lost the plot with VPN in general the situation has never arisen before. I am such a novice I don't know how to get at my photos or music. I particularly want to get the photos so I can show them on my phone to other family members when visiting.

See this page for Android apps.

I use ES File Explorer myself.

No problem. You might try the Amahi Anywhere application. It does not require VPN connection and will provide a nice interface to your Amahi shares.

The Android app is still in testing, but works quite well for me so far.

Even better, I looked at that but thought I couldn't use it for Android yet .... really appreciate that addendum from you. Cheers :D

No problem. I use it frequently. Also has apps access. Those that use ports may not work. There is also a restriction; you must be on WiFi in your network.
