added new hard drive but cant save anything to it

Postby Sparky06757 » Tue May 06, 2014 7:23 pm

Okay first off i want to say that I am really struggling with this software. Maybe its cause I have never messed with anything like this and i am having a hard time figuring out how this all works so here it is. I installed amahi 7 on a small ide drive and got it up and running. Then i wanted to add a hard drive to it and i was able to muddle through getting it partitioned, formatted and mounted. I can see the drive and the partition on my dashboard but i cant seem to be able to save anything to it. I have read through the amahi wiki pages on drive spooling but i cant make heads or tales of it. Can somebody please help????

You access the drive via shares.

Depending on the client OS will determine how you access them. For Windows, you can enter \\hda in the Windows Explorer window.

Here are some videos that might help.

BTW, to access the drive you added you can set up Greyhole for file redundancy and storage pooling.

You can also create a share and point it to that drives mount point. There is a lot of guidance in the wiki on how to do these things.

If you are new to Linux, it can be a different beast to learn. We tried to capture as much as we can in the wiki and simplify it.
