Best/easiest desktop for Amahi?

Postby kingston » Wed Apr 23, 2014 12:48 pm

Question from a complete Fedora/Amahi newbie: Which desktop is the easiest to install? And will work reasonably well with Amahi?

Most of the time, I can run it headless, but periodically, I would like to be able to boot a desktop.

Tried installing GNOME, and it ran fine on first try, but then it prompted me to do an update (a rather large one) and thereafter would fail to boot.

What about MATE? Or...?

Thanks in advance for any ideas...

Most everything you would need to with a desktop, you can do with Webmin. Webmin is an installable package for Amahi.

Thank you! I will certainly take a look at Webmin.

I guess I was hoping for something ever easier that thatm however, and so that's why Gnome, Mate, etc. are appealing.

If you install Amahi 7 via USB guidance in the wiki, you will get desktop as a bonus.
