Change IP Address of my HDA

Postby sleife » Tue Aug 20, 2013 1:20 pm

Hi everybody

I have changed my network config, but the change of the IP Address in AMAHI won't work

i do:
sudo hda-change-gw 192.168.192.1

Then the following:

Code: Select all

Network settings were successfully applied. Your HDA services have been restarted. network: unrecognized service It is strongly recommended that you reboot al systems on your network at this point.
What does that mean? --> network: unrecognized service

Ubuntu Desktop or Server? Have you tried a reboot? Wondering if the script works for both Ubuntu derivatives.

Its Ubuntu 12.04 LTS its Desktop.

I have test now the following. I changed the router IP Adress to 192.168.0.1 where Amahi worked before. This one works perfect, i can write "sudo hda-change-gw 192.168.0.1".
But if i change to the new ip Address, because i need vpn and vpn doesnt works with the same IP Ranges, it doesnt works

Sorry i meant when i have the Server with the ip:
192.168.0.150

and i wanna connect over VPN to this Server at the other home, they have the same IP Range and there i can't change because this Router allows you not to change this range.. i know its strange

So i wanna change the ip Range of the Server here to 192.168.1.x but it wont work. :)

Bad idea to make the server an address above 99. 100 and above are reserved for DHCP and that address could be handed out to a client, thus causing a crash.

As for changing the subnet on your router, you will need to follow the vendor guidance. Not all routers permit changing the gateway.
