I had an old gateway laptop that wasnt getting any use so i decided to turn it into a home server. I have never done this before and I am having trouble connecting to it from my macbook. I ran the online troubleshooter to try and resolve the problem and it told me to post this:
Using the Network Troubleshooter, I failed step 5 - Router is reachable?. Here's a paste to help troubleshoot: http://sprunge.us/GRgi
Can someone please help me?
RESOLVED: can't connect to server
Re: can't connect to server
Does your router IP match what you chose for amahi.org?

no i dont think so... should it?
Re: can't connect to server
When you built the HDA profile on amahi.org, the gateway must be your router IP address. If it is not, things will not work.

Re: can't connect to server
how can i fix the problem?
Re: can't connect to server
You can execute a command on the HDA to set the gateway.
https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Change_IP_Address
This should be the IP of the router. If the one on amahi.org is not correct, you would have to delete the HDA profile and create a new one. Then you would need to reload the entire OS and Amahi.
I would try the step above first and if all works, then don't worry about what amahi.org reflects.
A second option would be to change your router's IP address to match amahi.org and then ensure you run the command above for the HDA as well.
Hope it works for you.

Re: can't connect to server
so i reinstalled the os and amahi, then I ran the troubleshooter again and it says that it cant find a problem. However i still can not connect to the server from my mac. Im not sure if im just doing it wrong or what. Any ideas?
Re: can't connect to server
Check the wiki for Mac client access. Could it be a firewall issue? Also ensure your client is getting it's DHCP lease and DNS from the HDA vs your router.

https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/SharingToMacOSX
Can you connect with other clients? If so, then it's definitely a problem with the Mac client.
