Webserver

Postby alxy » Sat Mar 31, 2012 2:10 pm

Hi,

first of all: i´m from Germany. So sorry for my English...

My problem is about hosting a website. I did the instructions shown in the wiki: http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Hosting ... _a_Website
Everything worked fine (I used alxy.yourhda.com as domain), but the result is ... bad.
I dont see any website although everything seems to be right.

Any ideas, what i did wrong?

Did you put the index.html file in the /var/hda/web-apps/foldername/html folder? Once you do that, you also need to set permissions. The index.html should be owned by apache:users.

Hello,

I dont´t really know, what you want to tell me....
I´m glad it is working now: http://alxy.yourhda.com/

But unfortunatly I have another problem now. It seems, that it appeared during the night...
Since today morning I´m not longer able to access any (!) of my installed applications. (The dashboard as well as putting "\\hda" in the explorer are still working fine) I go to my installed applications (yes, they are there. In my case, it´s AjaXplorer and Ajaxterm)) and click on the hyperlink, e.g. http://ajaxplorer. Yesterday this took me to the Frontend of Ajaxplorer, today I am redirectet to ajaxplorer.home.com (A subdomain of home.com, a website selling homes...)
I don´t have any ideas, wwhat could have happened there...
Maybe you have...

So far,
alxy

What I am trying to say is creating a web app and forwarding the port on you router is not enough to get a web page. You have to build HTML files to put in the app directory so they can be displayed.

Did you turn off your router DHCP/DNS server? Recommend you check out the network troubleshooter.

I know ;)
This was one of my aimes to have a development enviroment to test some php applications.
Now this is working very fine: http://alxy.yourhda.com/ (Its just a testfile uploaded there)

But my problem now is, that the other apps don´t work anymore. (It´s ajaxterm and ajaxplorer)
I wanted the Xplorer also to be a webapp. But ok, my first problem ist really, that i don´t have local access to them.
I have no idea how come, because it worked in the beginning.

DNS is out, DHCP i turned off once and had the problem, that i hadn´t have any internet anymore. So... I´m a bit more careful now...
The problem is, that I´m not knowing what I´m doing there in the configurations. And this is never good...

But if you say, that it will work after turn this DHCP off, I´ll do it of course ;)

Best thing to do is run Amahi for DHCP and DNS. You will have a lot less problems. Turn off the DHCP on your router and let the HDA do it all.

Now i turned it off.
Internet is still working (yiha), but i don´t have access to my apps :(

http://ajaxplorer brings me to http://ajaxplorer.info/
http://ajaxterm to http://www.ajaxterm.com/

So the problem is the same,
:(

Did you release and refresh client DHCP lease? That is needed for client to get lease from HDA.
