sending reports to external emailaddress

Postby kikkegek » Sun Aug 21, 2011 11:02 pm

hi guys,

I have used the howto on disk error reports on the wiki.
http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Disk_Error_Alerts

I have enabled the "enable outgoing email" using this link from th wiki:
http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Enable_Outgoing_Emails

I also opened this topic on it.
http://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3199

For some reason I am not receiving any daily reports on my Gmailaccount.

please help. I have no clue where to look.

Hello,

Well the first thing to do would be to see if any email can be sent from your HDA. I suspect not as the last time I tried this routine, it did not work for me. Maybe check to see that your FQDN is set correctly. If the output of hostname or hostname -f is localhost.localdomain, that could be the problem.

May I suggest you try this one.

This is what I have been using for quite some time with success. I built this one from a tutorial and it has not failed me yet.

hi Bigfoot, thanks, but the Amahi Mail System is BETA. And BETA apps are only for ninja and prenium accounts.

can I still install it anyway?

and what is this "special access" that must be granted to automatically install this?

Installation is finished. yes!

Now I need to install a client, but they are all ALPHA stage. So not available to me. please advise what to do?

Hello,

Thanks for pointing out the typo....fixed them both.

As for mail clients, PM me your amahi.org user name and I can give you access. RoundCube is probably the easiest one. Also, you can use Thunderbird or Evolution to access the mail as well.
