Great news i got it done :D thank you all for your help
i tried yum groupinstall "X Window System again
and it worked cool

so i hope this may help some people out
in the end this is what worked for me

1 anahi installed express cd
log in as root
su -

yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop Environment"
yum groupinstall "X Window System"

to log in to Gnome startx

to stop gnome ctrl+alt f1 (gnome is still running ctrl+alt f7 to bring gnome back) type killall X to quit Gnome (must be root)

if there is a better way to stop gnome let me know
hope this helps :D
