User Registry -- every app for himself?
User Registry -- every app for himself?
Just poking around my first Amahi install, trying out a few apps... everything I've tried so far has asked for a login, even though I've already logged in to the Amahi dashboard. And when I provided the login for one of the users I set up in Amahi, none of them is being recognized. It seems that every app has its own user registry. Is this the way things work in Amahi-land? I hope I missed some setup step...
Re: User Registry -- every app for himself?
Yes you are correct, most apps have their own user store. Most apps use a MySQL database to store the log in credentials for that specific app. This is done by design by the author of the apps. There is no easy way to link it to the Amahi users, so we typically set most to a default of admin/admin.
The dashboard login allows you access to apps. Each app that has a login will provide the credentials in the initial user or special instructions area right after you install.
Go to the Apps tab and select the Installed section. Find the app you installed and select it to collapse it to reveal the login credentials.
