Home Automation?

Postby laser712 » Mon Jul 25, 2011 11:18 am

Sooo....as it seems like many other people have done, I've been looking at this to replace Windows on my home server (though I was running Win7, not WHS), and it's looking really good! I've been running it for a few days on a virtual machine (not using the dhcp or dns part) just to play around with it, and I'm liking the feel.

I'm torn, however, between Amahi and LinuxMCE...mostly because of the home automation stuff built directly into LinuxMCE.

That being said, I'm not currently using ANY home automation and rent an apartment, but I've been doing research and will be setting up automation in my home when I buy it next year. I've seen a couple topics on home automation with Amahi, but not a whole lot.

Does anyone know if I'm just missing something, or if there are plans for the future?

I would speculate that this is not a planned feature to be built as part of the Amahi infrastructure. However, that does not mean we cannot package web applications to support this capability.

If you have any applications in mind, please submit them via the suggestion mechanism on the Amahi web site.
