VNC

Postby passey » Fri Apr 15, 2011 1:42 pm

Right i setup my server today. everything seems to be working fine.

Picking up network shared files in the hda. everythng seems fine.

I got VNC working and unplugged monitor keyboard and mouse.

Was working fine then on restart it wasnt workings.

Do i need to log in on the hda before VNC will work?

Depends on how you set it up.

If you got the VNC one-click (paid) app, it should work automatically as a server. You do need the latest 6.1 pre-release bits.

If you set it us as a service (i forget what method it is called in the wiki), then it should start as a service.

If you did not (the other methods), then you have to start it by hand (which could be via ssh or at the console without graphics).

I run my server headless (no monitor). I used method 2 from the wiki and have no problems using vnc even after rebooting the server.
