Spoken reminders

Postby jimmy9pints1 » Thu Jan 08, 2009 5:17 am

I think a really cool thing for Amahi would be an easily configurable reminder software that can remind you of events on your calendar (or perhaps other things such as system administration tasks) which are in spoken format.

A program already exists that can handle this for KDE, Kalarm, but nothing for Gnome as far as I know.

To tweak it for Amahi, it'd be super cool if it could transmit a text or spoken message to a client computer.

Apart from the obvious calender based reminders other example uses could include it telling you that a torrent has finished downloading, or that a back-up is underway and you should not turn off your computer.
