In keeping with the desire to keep things as much 'one click install' as possible for apps - would it be worthwhile to consider Docker containers as an option? It could potentially help minimize the amount of changes necessary to keep up with, and could even make Amahi truly platform agnostic - giving the project a much wider audience (would run on mac, windows and most Linux platforms without requiring any additional dev cycles for testing in these environments.)
I am just curious if it had been considered as an option... it seems like (on the surface) it could be a good fit.
(It looks like Rockstor has gone that route successfully.)

Don't know. We would have to take a look at it.In keeping with the desire to keep things as much 'one click install' as possible for apps - would it be worthwhile to consider Docker containers as an option?
Please submit a bug report for a future Amahi feature.
