I am not part of any development team, but i AM curious what other users would like to see in Amahi 9!

So everybody, what do YOU think is much needed in Amahi 9?

I'm not really missing anything atm other then a good, integrated mailserver!

Is there interest in IPV6?

I still think it's too complex for regular humans to understand. If IPV4 is hard ... imagine.

Good idea to ask for features people want for Amahi 9! Let's hear them!

I don't know if this is a specific Greyhole development suggestion(not Amahi).If it is then..... But it would be great to have the option to create several data pools instead just the one.

Storage pools is Greyhole and should be submitted as a feature request to the author.

Amahi makes use of storage pooling technology by integrating Greyhole.

Multiple storage pool is a an interesting and good idea and a bug (as @bigfoot65 suggested) is the best course of action.

I think it would be akin to running two separate copies of greyhole (having configured them properly to stay away from each other strictly, etc.).

It would increase complexity in configuration, etc., but it could be interesting for larger-scale storage solutions. Don't forget to file a bug.

What's the need for separate storage pools?

I was thinking along the lines of having a 3 to 6TB pool just for photo's,music,docs,home videos.With redundant copies of a few. And then going with a 12 to 20TB pool for movies,tv shows with no redundant copies(just backed up).

This way the 6TB's of personal data wouldn't take space away from my large pool.They did tell me how it can be done in a since.By telling greyhole to only use specific drives for each samba share,provided you don't use the same drive for another share.You effectively have two pools. They went into more detail(drive selection groups and drive selection algorithms).

Any open source "Smart Home" software that could be run off Amahi?

If you have any apps to suggest, please submit it through the Amahi web site suggest option.

I would really like to be able to call my server something other than HDA. Is there any chance that this could be introduced in Amahi 9?
