he jayrock,

I have a problem and I seem to link it to AES.

I had a bad line in the /etc/fstab file that kept the server from rebooting.

I have commented it out and rebooted my HDa and now it reboots again.

I had to force a reinstall of the greyhole package, because for some reason I had lost all my samba shares and could only browse my home share (known issue sometimes).

If I reboot my HDA everything is fine, but if AES puts it in "suspend to disk" I loose my samba shares when I wake it up.

can you please help me solve this. Where do I need to look for problem solving?

Does this occur also if you manually suspend to disk (via KDE menu)? If yes, it is something caused by the OS rather than AES.

Cheers,

well funny thing is I have been "tailing" the messages log and it seems greyhole automatically gets updated by yum and then the symlinks get broken.

If Greyhole is getting automatically updated, recommend you disable that repo. Amahi does not update Greyhole by default for just this reason. Sometimes new versions cause problems and things break.

for now I have reverted back to the 0.9.25-1 version and disabled the automatic update in the repo, like told in the wiki:

thanks guys.

Updated:
hda-greyhole.i386 0:0.9.26-4

Complete!
[root@amahi jochen]# ls -l /usr/lib*/samba/vfs/greyhole.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 37 Dec 31 20:20 /usr/lib/samba/vfs/greyhole.so -> /usr/lib/greyhole/greyhole-samba35.so
[root@amahi jochen]# rpm -q hda-greyhole
hda-greyhole-0.9.26-4.i386

I am still interested if there is any linux type solution like the windows client has? with same functionality:
- select HDA
- wake HDA over ehthernet, internet
- feedback of server status

so far I have not found any solutions for Ubuntu yet
