Coniguration re-builder to aid re-install

I am in the midst of re-installing Amahi due to a addition of a hard drive. What would be cool would be some way of re-building various config files from backups, so that re-installs get you back to where you left off or as near as possible.
Jim!

cfg2html is your friend for a lot of system info. That together with frequent backups of your database should help a lot.
Provide functions for Export & Import

It would be nice if you realised this via a function for Export and Import. The scope of functions Export and Input should be configuration settings (example: Static IP addresses) and application data (Mediawiki). Everytime a new application is added to Amahi you add its corresponding export and import script. Applications for which a script is available are listed in the Export/Import window. Users can then select all those applications that they want to handle. The export/import window should output to/read from a user-specified filename & location.
Having such a function would allow rebuild but also help less unix-script skilled Amahi users like me to backup / restore easily their data in Amahi - or for teh sake of it, transfer/rebuild Amahi in a different box.
Thanks for consideration,
fl
