Requested apps: DimDim, FlashLight-VNC, O3Spaces, Scalix, Sk

Postby fredthompson » Fri Jun 25, 2010 5:55 am

Is anyone working to add these to Amahi?

DimDim CE http://dimdim.com/community/opensource.html full web conferencing which does not require a client install

FlashLight-VNC http://flashlight-vnc.sourceforge.net/ Flash-based VNC which does not require a client install. Benefit: usable from almost any computer, potentially the lesat confusing way to give remote support to computerphobes.

O3Spaces CE http://www.o3spaces.com/Page/nctrue/sp200/index.html 5 users, Microsoft Office document sharing/version control/collaboration - is there a freeware equivalent with more users? Benefit: more convenient for computerphobes than a full version control system.

Scalix CE http://www.scalix.com/community/communi ... /index.php webmail, email, calendar, spam, etc. Benefits: Search within email attachments, robust custom filtering, Outlook and Evolution support, 10 full users (calendar conflict resolution, etc.), unlimited basic email and calendar users. - Basically, I'd like Eudora/Thunderbird-like filtering in the webmail component.

SkypeKit http://developer.skype.com/public/skypekit Potential to add Skype to trixbox

trixbox CE http://www.trixbox.com/products/trixbox-ce telephony, voicemail

Hello,

Thanks for the suggestions. Some of these apps have been reviewed, but integration with Amahi may be difficult. It doesn't mean they will not work, but it may take quite a bit of development time.

Since we are a small team of volunteers, it may be a while before we can get back to them. With the release of Fedora 13, our priorities are shifting to getting Amahi ready for it.

If you would like to help with packaging these apps, we would welcome your assistance.

I'm still getting my feet wet with Amahi but, sure, I can help but I'm no expert.

Where can I see whatever notes/tests/etc. have ben done on these things? No sense in duplicating that which has already been accomplished.

When I try to connect to a vnc server with a p2p connection, the connection always times out.
No errors, just time-out.

I'm using FlashLight FMS tunnel together with the Remote Management feature of Mac OSX (10.6.8).
I try to connect to the vnc server from my Windows 7 machine with FlashLight 2.2.0.

The weird part when I build the project and launch the app from the air package, the connection will time out.

Any ideas?
Thanks!
