I have a new install of Amahi and have run into a couple of snags hopefully someone can help me with.

First, I'm having some DNS issues. If I set my primary DNS to the HDA then I can access my server by the host name but i can no longer get to the Internet. If I change my DNS to my router then I can access the Internet but not the server host name. Is there away to use the HDA DNS server but have it forward unknown host to the router DNS? Maybe I'm completely off base so if you have other ideas please let me know.

Second, when I look at my control panel for Amahi it has a status of "not updating". It wasn't like this right after the install so I'm not sure what's changed or even what this means. Can someone please explain and advise me on how to fix it.

If it's not updating it means your HDA does not have a connection to the internet, somehow. At least it cannot update it's IP to amahi.org.

Follow the network troubleshooting and tell us what step you get stuck at.

Could you think back and describe the first thing that went unexpectedly?

If the not updating means no internet connection then all this is related to my DNS issues.

When I have my DNS set to the HDA server IP I can't access the internet. When I set it to my router I can access the internet but not my HDA host name. Should I be using my router for DNS? I though it was possbile to use my HDA for my network DNS?

I will go through the network troubleshooting guide. Thanks for that info.
