First, apologies on the dearth of news in the last few days.
We are iterating rapidly towards a release. The translations "last call" has received a lot of great support (we have over a dozen full translations now, plus a few more close to being done). You can trac some of the activities here http://bit.ly/am-activity
Recently we had a great blog post by guest blogger and contributor David (aka lostogre) doing a quick overview of some of the video streaming options for Amahi:

As you may have seen, Fedora 12 has been released and the reviews are positive (more polish is always nice!). There is one MAJOR controversy - under certain circumstances, some users can install packages without needed root access, by default. It looked like the decision was fairly well thought out, but the news was spun as "any thing can be done by any user all the time" ... which is not the case (plus, the default is configurable). Read all about it in the mega-thread pointed at from this Slashdot story:

News on the development front: things are getting closer and closer to Amahi 5.0, with a new installer in testing (web based) and a lot of new features. We are (probably) jump to Fedora 12 and skip a Fedora 11 release. We would like help testing the F12 release immediately. If you have the cycles to test, please do! This will be our most feature packed release ever!
On the Ubuntu front, there are at least 2 people looking into putting the Ubuntu support through it's paces and developing for it. Help to move this effort along is always needed! If you want to help, join the amahi-devel list and help drive that!
