How do we add the language pack to Amahi?

Or we wait till the next version?

Thanks

i imagine languagepacks will be added in the future just like apps do ;)
one single click!
or perhaps even better.. during amahi install itself!

How is translations actually done? I have tried Launchpad's translation services (Canonical/Ubuntu), and the web utilities for making and updating translations are really great. Any open source project can use their web interface and bazaar couplings for translations as far as I reckon.

making of language packs is explained in the translate amahi wiki page. (i *think* that is 100% up to date)

it consists of making a copy of the latest keywords in english in the file en.yml in the source code

http://git.amahi.org/?p=amahi.git;a=blo ... ml;hb=HEAD

and and translate it for the target language.

if you are anxious to get going, this is the way to go for now! you can do a full translation or look at the keywords that are missing right now from the code and do them by hand.

unfortunately, the way used in the launchpad for translations does not work in RoR.

the good news is that we think we do have one way to help automate translations (with some google translate support even to make it easier). see this screenshot:

http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/364883/Amahi ... plugin.png

NOTE, however, that before we need to do this, we need to become "keyword complete" in english. this means there is no more english in the code (or at least very little) and they pheases are replaced by keywords.
then we can set up the translate site per the screenshot above to automate it!

if you would like to help make the platform keyword complete, please get in touch, preferably in the amahi-devel list and let's get it done!!

Finished translating in French, but have have questions about the "%" series.

Deducted %Y-%m-%d is Year month day.

But;

%B %d, %Y

%b %d

%n %u

Not sure what is the variable, or requested value. I read the key. But to prevent errors, I left those alone.

Maybe this post will help future translator.

Nick

Basically all of them except %Y-%m-%d.
