Look at IP address and DNS server address address. They both should point to the HDA IP address.

Also the Gateway or router IP address should match your router obviously.

the default gateway is the same as my router: 192.168.1.1
the DHCP server's IP is the same as my HDA: 192.168.1.10
the DNS server"s IP is the same as my HDA: 192.168.1.10
Now what?

Do you have a firewall on the clients?

Something is blocking access.

I rebooted the laptop and gained access to the HDA, but the apps still do not connect. Each installed app, nextcloud, Greyhole disk utilization, etc., still takes me to the page that tells me, "If you arrived here after a fresh Amahi install, your network may need a few adjustments in order to make your Amahi HDA fully functional."
Also, my phone app will not connect.

Let's try this:

Ensure the Advanced Settings are enabled. Next go to the Network tab, settings option and change the DNS provider to Google. Then wait a few minutes and switch it back.

You may need to reboot your client, then try apps again.

Tried all of the above, including reboot of client. Apps still do not connect.

I am at a loss. Best thing is to check the log files.

See the Common Log Files wiki page.

Look for errors or some clue of what could be causing the issue.

Did you do any manual configuration to the HDA? Making changes could cause issues as well.

Might try the Interactive Network Troubleshooter.

I don't know how to "check" a log file.
The only configuration deviations I made were during the Fedora install where I used the standard install instead of the minimum and where I established a two disk system, one for "/" and one for everything else.
I have no problems now using "hda" in a web browser to get to my dashboard, but still the apps won't connect and the Amahi app for my phone won't connect to the shares.

That’s likely the issue. You must not deviate from the install instructions.

Doing more than a minimal install causes issues with the networking. That’s why we stated to do minimal install.

You may need to start over. Adding a second drive can be done after the initial setup is complete and working.

That's interesting because I have processed the set-up FIVE TIMES NOW and only this last time did I choose other than the minimal install, yet I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM EVERY TIME.
Sorry for the yelling. I have worked in the computer field, in some form or fashion, since 1977; I build computers of all kinds, write code for various applications, though none in Linux, and this has been THE most frustrating and unfulfilling venture I have EVER attempted. I'm not sure whether it's Linux or Amahi, but I'm about ready to look elsewhere for my home server solution.
