Installed Apps not working

Postby Oldkat » Thu Nov 30, 2017 4:30 pm

I've installed several Amahi apps, Nextcloud, Maps, etc. and none of them work. They all direct me to the Amahi page that tells me I don't have my network configured correctly; however I can access my HDA and shares, and even see the apps installed.

Sorry, missed that "more info".
I used the install link on the Get Apps page. The app appeared to install correctly and was listed as an installed app on my HDA, but nothing I could do would make it allow me to gain access. When I click on the app, within my HDA, it would direct me to the Amahi.org page where there were two buttons, "Why am I here?" and "Where is my HDA?"
I went through the entire troubleshooting routine and everything was working except my access to the apps functionality.

Sounds like a DNS issue. Is our HDA serving as the DHCP and DNS server for your network client?

Yes it is. I can access the shared folders from my PC, and from my wife's PC, and the cell app lets me access them from outside the local network, but I can't get any installed apps to work from within the HDA.

Check that your client machines are using the HDA DHCP and DNS servers.

That could be the issue.

How exactly do I check to see if my client machines are using the HDA for DHCP and DNS? I turned of the DHCP Server in my router and went through EVERY instruction given, but still cannot get this resolved.

If you have a Windows client, from command prompt do:

Code: Select all

ipconfig /all
See Renew IP in the wiki.

My DNS suffix for Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection is amahi.net
My DNS Suffix Search List is amahi.net
What else should I be looking at?
