I understand that you guys are preparing to release a new version of Amahi for Fedora 25, which is great news . Any idea on release date? Also posting a bit of news about it on your web site won't be a bad idea . Amahi is great please keep up the fantastic work.

Good idea. We are short handed on the outreach/marketing side. We could use some help there (interested? ).

We are doing the finishing touches and the beta is ready if you want to try it. It will be fully upgraded to the final release automatically, as we only expect relatively minor changes.

The final release should be in the next week or two!

I will definitely be trying the Beta .

Just got the Beta up and running guys. So far so good, a couple of little bugs but a 'dnf update' tonight (I'm in Australia) sorted them out, they were squashed in the latest update. Great work from everyone. Are you guys going to publish a full change log? (apart from "now works on Fedora 25")

I went the upgrade route with zero problems and I don't have a "standard" server at all. My boot partition and / are on a small SSD and I have a raid 5 set up as my /home where I have moved all my shares to. Plus a large 6TB external backup drive. Everything worked great.

It always helps to hear about update (and clean install) experiences, so your report is much appreciated!

We typically only really talk about the main changes, however, this is a relatively incremental release, so there are no major Amahi proper updates, mostly technology updates from the base distribution.

Just one clarification -- when you say update, did you update to F25/Amahi from F23 or F24?

I updated from Fedora 23.

The only thing I would point out is that a clean install may fail as there is a bug in the installer in Fedora 25 where the installers crashes if you have a non Intel raid system. The way around this to install Fedora 24 and then do a system update to 25. I discovered this the hard way as my server is a HP Prolint G7 which is AMD based, and contains an AMD RAID chip. This might be worth noting for new users.

This problem may be specific to RAID or USB installs. We have not had any other reports of issues.

We don't specifically provide support for RAID, so this will be something the community will need to work as needed.
