Amahi server machine overhits

Postby sakhmed » Mon Jan 25, 2016 10:17 pm

Hello,

I am using Fedora 21/Amahi 8 on my dell laptop, Amahi works as DHCP server as well. I use windows File History to backup some of my files to Amahi, it is set to backup once a day.

By some reasons server overheats and turns off, something is loading it. How can I fix it? How can I check what makes it overheated?

This is likely a hardware issue.

Recommend you check the Dell web site for troubleshooting tips.

How did you install the OS, minimal CD or full DVD?

I believe I followed a tutorial on amahi's website. There was recommended to use "minimal CD"

Is there any way I can check what tasks consumes CPU and how much?

It appears to be a hardware issue. I see nothing consuming CPU time. Even if it did, improper cooling of the CPU would cause shutdown, not the OS or Amahi.

Sometimes users have to use Full DVD install in order to get all the correct device drivers. That may be your solution.

What can I do about it?

As for you recommendation to make the full cd install, can I do it on the top of minimal install?

What can I do about it?
Are you moving or changing a lot of files in your storage pool? Did you implement mount_shares_locally?
As for you recommendation to make the full cd install, can I do it on the top of minimal install?
I don't think this is a driver issue. However if you wanted to do the Full Server DVD install, you would have to wipe your current drive and start over. Recommend you do more investigating and try to determine why Greyhole is taking up so much processing time. The other process is likely related to Greyhole and curing one will take care of the other.

Might want to seek help from the Greyhole author on his website. We can only provide limited support for the integration part of Greyhole. The actual functionality and any problems must be addressed to the author.
