Application Error: Rails application failed to start properl

Postby dcshoes23 » Tue Mar 04, 2014 1:29 pm

Hi, I am getting this error all of a sudden when trying to access my dashboard.

I have Amahi 7.

I was looking through the logs and I think that this line in /var/log/httpd/error_log is what is causing it:

[Tue Mar 04 15:24:13.925193 2014] [passenger:error] [pid 576] *** Passenger could not be initialized because of this error: Unable to start the Phusion Passenger watchdog because its executable (/usr/share/gems/gems/passenger-4.0.18/buildout/agents/PassengerWatchdog) does not exist. This probably means that your Phusion Passenger installation is broken or incomplete, or that your 'PassengerRoot' directive is set to the wrong value. Please reinstall Phusion Passenger or fix your 'PassengerRoot' directive, whichever is applicable.

Anyone know how I can fix it? This path "/usr/share/gems/gems/passenger-4.0.18/" exists, but the sub directory "buildout" doesn't.

Thanks,
Matthew

This may be due to a recent OS update we have found problems where httpd update breaks things.

This bug might be helpful.
https://bugs.amahi.org/issues/1315

If that is not the case, then something may have not properly installed.

a. When did you install?
b. Have you done OS updates?

I don't think that bug is related. I tried downgrading httpd as suggested and it didn't help.

a. I installed Amahi 7 around September last year
b. I did a yum update last week and today, the problem has been happening since at least last week

This may be a bit more complicated. Please file a bug report.
https://bugs.amahi.org

Also ensure you list what version of the platform and core you have running. You should be able as root user to do:

Code: Select all

yum update hda-ctl hda-platform
Please provide as much detail as possible.

Thanks! Sorry I cannot give you an estimate of when we will get to it, but at least it's on the radar now.

Our developer may be contacting you directly via the bug. Please check it for updates throughout the next few days.
