I tried following the wiki (https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/GUI_In ... Express_CD) and it is not working.
I started with a fresh install of Amahi 7.1 express on Fedora 19. Everything seems OK. Installing apps, setting up shares, adding users, it all works. I then tried:
yum -y install @gnome-desktop
which seemed to work ok. But when I tried:
Xorg :1 -configure
I got, "command not found". I was not worried since the Wiki says I might get that. I then tried:
sed -i 's/id:3:initdefault:/id:5:initdefault:/g' /etc/inittab
startx
I just get:
xauth: file /root/.serverauth.13588 does not exist
xinit: unable to run server "/usr/bin/X": No such file or directory ....
xinit: giving up
xinit: unable to connect to X server: Connection refused
xinit: server error
Any tips on how to get this running?

Would you like to help test Amahi VNC app? If so please PM me your amahi.org user name.
You would need to back out any changes you made based on the wiki guidance before installing. I would like to get this one released soon.

For anyone who would like to add a GUI to Amahi 7.1 on Fedora 19 after install. These steps will get you there:
First install a whole graphical environment. You can list group installs available by using:
I chose GNOME so I issued:
In Fedora 19 the inittab is not used. Instead, issue this to make the graphical user interface the default.

Would you please add the missing pieces to the wiki? That would be greatly appreciated.

I did, but I do not have access to an Ubuntu system right now, and that section would be much stronger with instructions for both. At least it is fresh for Fedora 19 and above.
Re: Tips for getting a GUI for Amahi 7.1 express
No problem. I am not as concerned about Ubuntu as the Amahi VNC app is available if needed. Plus for Ubuntu, desktop is typically installed by default with Amahi install.
The Amahi 7 area is my main concern.
