I have both of these options unticked:

- Watchdog. DHCP Server is not being monitored 24x7
- Start at boot time. DHCP Server will not start at boot time

However, when I restart my server, the Amahi Dashboard says DHCP is "Running" and in my var/log/messages file I have lots of these entries:

amahi dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER ...
amahi dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST ...
amahi dhcpd: DHCPOFFER ...
amahi dhcpd: DHCPACK ...

Also, Greyhole is listed as "Stopped" when I restart, even though it's quite clearly running and I have "Watchdog" and "Start at boot time" ticked. I think this might be cos I've upgraded Greyhole, not sure. In any case, this isn't a problem cos it seems to work fine. The DHCP thing is puzzling though!

Is this Fedora or Ubuntu? For Ubuntu there is a known bug with the OS, not Amahi for DHCP being disabled.

Fedora 14. I have read that Wiki already but it doesn't tell me why DHCP is apparently on when I've turned it off.

I updated the article in the wiki to reflect another method for F14. You can simply rename the init script (dhcpd or whatever it's named) and once stopped, it will not restart. You may see errors in the log, but it will not restart.

I would also recommend renaming the /etc/monit/conf.d/dhcpd.conf file. I am not sure about the path/name, but that file is what makes it restart automatically.
