Just a though, and I don't know how feasible this is...
But is it at all possible to come up with our own flavor of linux modified from Fedora, just ready to install and go. (I'm thinking a la linux mint, which is a modified ubuntu or MythBuntu).
I think this may help in getting people to a working version and at least seeing why many of us have grown so accustomed to our hda's
