When I copy movies off of my HDA to my laptop I get 109MB/s reading my share. When I write to my share I get 55MB/s.

How do I achieve this?
Gigabit ethernet
RAID 5 array of 3 disks server side.
256GB SSD (Crucial C300) client side.
For read copy a large file off of your SMB share and look at the data transfer rate.
I used dd to benchmark writing.

What is your speed?

Nice speeds. I knew I would need RAID to get higher speeds.

I have a single drive to store my data on, and I get about 80-90 MB/s copying from my HDA. Writing i get about 20-40MB/s
