dhcp problems

I am having problems with the DHCP Server on amahi. Just out of teh blue it stops working. Forces me to restart amahi. The resaon i Know there is a problem is when i connect wireless the computer will not connect unless I give the laptop a static ip. then i restart the amahi and dhcp works again. I'm not sure where any logs are. Any ideas?

logs are in /var/log/messages

i thought there would be other logs, however, i cannot find them.
