Is it possible to modify the main page?

Hi,
I see that the main page when you go to the https://hda page you have this front portion for "latest news", which btw they are not new.... anyway, is it possible to get rid of it by editing any particular file in the server itself? maybe to add a picture or something else instead?

I would think it could be modified. You would need to locate the css/html file to make the change. I would recommend you use an html editor and make backups before starting. Don't want to break something you cannot fix.

The news that is listed there is current for Amahi Blog posts. So, unless there is a new blog post, it will not reflect anything newer. That portion can stay the same for several days as a result.

I appreciate it, I'll take a look and see what I can do. Its just a personal preference and it would be good if we have the option to 'personalize' (maybe using the settings option) on some degree the main page.

I looked inside the files in /var/hda and I cant find the file (html? css?) that holds the calling of that secction, if I vew the source of the page using Internet Explorer (view -> source) I see the section I need to change (="latest_news" section) but I cant find the actual page anyware... does anyone know where it is?

Style sheet is here /var/hda/platform/html/public/themes/main. Not sure where the index.html file is located. You might find it easier to install a different theme and the files for it will be easier to locate. They will be in the themes dir under its name.

Hi,
I have not had any luck with this, I tried and no luck the same window appears, to be honest the front page make it look outdated, not clean like a real Home Server should look. Is this Home server somehow "calling" home and bringing this page from amahi site? this should not be.
I think that looking to OLD news is not a good idea, where you able to find the main page? I have been literaly through all the files in /hda folder and no luck... where is it?

Sorry you don't feel the dashboard is suitable. We do have many other themes which might make it look nicer for you.

Have you tried installing a different theme, then going to the directory to find the files for it? Modifying the dashboard is not something we support at the moment.

Keep in mind this is free software, so our support team is very small. We are all volunteers and our workload is currently focused on other priority projects to keep things working for Amahi.

I would recommend you submit a feature request at bugs at amahi.org to ask for a customizable front page. If you have linux experience and would like to assist us, that would be awesome. See http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Application_Contributor for more info.

Thanks for your response. I love the product as it is and I think its great, I just though that I could just change the html main page (dashboard) somehow on an easy way.
I installed several themes from and they all have the same news part of it... I looked into their directories and found the same - this is the only thing - other that that is perfect!
