iPhone 4 has VPN options, will they work with Amahi?

The iPhone 4 has a screen in - general-network settings for VPN access. would this work to VPN into the Amahi server from outside the home network, or would I need another VPN app on the iPhone (there are many VPN ap options).... I've seen the post indicating there is a way to get a jailbroken iPhone to view Amahi files, but what are the options for folks without a jailbroken phone and do not want to jailbreak the phone?
