Windows 7 and Amahi

Postby t0bbe » Tue May 25, 2010 12:42 am

Hi,

anyone else using Amahi to serve computers running Windows 7?
I thought we could share some information about the best apps / settings etc.

Backup:
I use Crashplan for both my Windows and Mac machines, and it works great.
Anyone using the built in backup in Windows 7?

Music/Media:
I want a media server to serve the music to the Windows Media Player.
So far I've tried uShare, it shows all the music, but all the information about artist/album is lost and all songs come up as "unknown".
Anyone has a better suggestion or how to fix the problem I have with uShare?

Homegroup:
Is there a way to get the HDA to show up i a Windows 7 homegroup?

Hi t0bbe!

For backup, I use Comodo Backup, since I don't have any reason to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional for network backup. But I'd assume it works.

Music/Media: We have multiple options in the Apps section. Check 'em out. The metadata thing seems to be a common issue. I personally don't use it enough to know.

Homegroup: There was a post on myspace about how Homegroup was set up. It could be eventually integrated, but we don't have anything yet.
