security of apps

Postby kereluk » Sun Apr 04, 2010 6:13 am

applications like the database seem unsecure. Is the data that I put into these applications being stored on a remote server. There is a program for home inventory and passwords, and it just seems as though this is a very unsecure way of storing private information. And I just being paranoid, who exactly is hosting this information.

Your data is hosted on your home HDA.

Your question is valid. I invite you to listen to Carlos interview on FLOSS weekly. He explain the security side towards the end of the pod-cast. http://twit.tv/floss112

You can always encrypt your personal data that you put on you HDA. to add a level of security.

It is open source after all,
