Hi,

I was wondering how safe is it to keep the default sql root password: "hda". I am guessing that this password is used by Amahi in installation of new apps without bothering the user. So if I change it, I might potentially break things... At the same time, anyone in my network can connect to my SQL and do anything they want, including wiping all the data (?). I would appreciate your suggestions... Thanks!

if you have amahi 5.0 or later, you can change it to anything you like without breaking anything.

generally, amahi assumes a more or less trusted network, so, someone in your own network going into mysql and destroying your data seems like not a very friendly network.

maybe one day, when amahi becomes popular and we have a larger team, we will tighten taht up by randomizing the password or something.
