Petition against software patents

It's that time again (in Europe at least): the industry is yet again trying to get Software Patents in Europe. It's been tried before and I went to the protest rally in Brussels back then. Apparently a few hundred geeks did enough to impress the EU ministry to vote against software patents. Of course we seek to achieve this goal again this time!

Personally I'm very much against software patents as they tend to stifle innovation and make people focus more on either avoiding patents or researching if one already exists instead of developing great new features.
