smartstradamus: done.

I was missing some dependencies added those now. I think the other problem is sickbeard is updated almost every day.In the last 4 days theres been 3 updates, when you run /etc/init.d/sickbeard update it updates to the latest available version, it seems like if you have an older version and click on the check now button it bugs out. I can't make the download link be the latest version for the webapp because if i did that the SHA1 sum wouldn't match when the versions change, I'm thinking maybe I should make it download the older version them immediately download to the latest version during the install, it'd take slightly longer to install but should work seamlessly.

thanks riyadc

I installed it and it started fine but got internal 500 error pages when saving config, so I changed permissions on the config file and it worked until I got more permission errors when adding shows so I continued changing permissions on files it needed to write to.

Are the updates you released today anything todo with making sickbeard run as root?

Do you know what files you had to change and what permissions you set them too?
I am getting lots of 500 error pages when making changes.

I was getting lots of 500 errors when i first installed, but removing and installing the latest version from the amahi dashboard seems to have solved a lot of problems.

http://sickbeard now works inside my LAN

the problem i am having now, and it could be my ignorance of the program, is that I cannot get shows to download.

When I add a show, it will connect to thetvdb.com and get the show info. but ever episode shows as "skipped" when i hit search it comes back with " No downloads were found"
I have had this problem with 3 different shows, two older episode shows, one new.

I have provider details for NZBsRus, Newzbin, and nzb.su. it seems some of the search provider website, you have to pay for "credits" is this normal?

I used. http://sickbeard.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10 to setup my install.

Can anyone maybe offer a bit of guidance to set this thing up so i can be a bit more help.
I also updated the latest two commits this morning.
Thanks

Before I even ran sick beard for the first time I used the terminal update line riadc provided in an earlier post.
Then the sick beard config file located in web apps needs to have read and write permissions otherwise you can't save any sick beard changes.
I then noticed in the logs for sick beard it was having trouble writing to another file when it was adding my shows from the tvdb.

For my search providers I only use nzbs.org and nzbsrus both for free (except nzbsrus only allows 5 nzbs a day for free account)
Sometimes sick beard will throw out errors saying it can't find a certain program, but in previous experience it has always had something to do with the show quality settings I used. Now I just keep it on sd quality and I get no errors.
Mine seems to be working fine now. It downloads and correctly post process' it in sabnzbd using SabToSickbeard

It still throws out a few errors in the log files but they don't seem to harm it's operation. All in all it's working well and I have no complaints.

I think it's stable and just needs the root permissions for it to be an easily useable amahi one-click app install.

The only thing I'm confused about is these updates I'm receiving by mail.
How do I use them? Just copy and paste the strings inside them? Or repeat the commands in terminal?

Forgive my stupidness but I only touched Linux for the first time last week and that was an ubuntu wubi install. Since then I have built a amahi vm and used what I learned to buy and make a dedicated amahi box which is now residing in my living room headless. It's doing everything I need it to and more.

One more thing sick beard normally adds all shows up to the date you added it as skipped. If you mark them all as missed and either wait for it's scheduled update or force a backlog update it will look for them and download them.

Those updates are just to source changes, and changes they are making to the program behind the scenes i believe. When you update, you should get any changes they have committed to the program.

Edit: Great call on the quality issue i changed a show from HD to SD, and away we go!

So can someone clarify for me, can sickbeard download the files it's self or do i have to pair it with sabnzbd. I have tried it both ways, and I still cannot get anything to download. They will say "downloading" in sickbeard, and add to sabnzbd but nothing comes down the pipe.

It has to be used with sabnzbd or hella nzb kr even a torrent client.
If sab says it is downloaded and has completed unpacking then it will be wherever u specified the download.
Have you setup sabnzbd correctly?
are you using sabtosickbeard post processing?
If you use dont specify a download location when adding a show it will auto use the web-apps folder of sickbeard to extract to.

You need to pair it with SABnzbd to download then use the scripts in sickbeard to move the files back to your TV folder when they are finished. There is a good guide below which really helped me sort everything out.

Thanks to smartstradamus and stueyboy. I had sickbeard and SABnzbd talking. I even got two shows to transfer to SABnzbd but they would not download, they never started at all.
I messed with the config files a bit and now it seems everything is hosed getting a 503 error, so i am working through that. It seems even an un-install reinstall will not fix the 503 error issue.

I think my hda needs a reinstall, maybe an update to Fedora 14, i seem to be having some issues lately.
I worked through the thread at http://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1747 to no avail.

I keep getting an error Starting sabnzbd: /usr/bin/sabnzbd: line 3: /usr/share/sabnzbd/SABnzbd.py: No such file or directory.
