well funny thing is I have been "tailing" the messages log and it seems greyhole automatically gets updated by yum and then the symlinks get broken.
Dec 31 19:02:22 amahi kernel: Kernel logging (proc) stopped.
Dec 31 19:02:22 amahi rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd" swVersion="4.6.3" x-pid="20427" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] exiting on signal 15.
Dec 31 19:02:22 amahi kernel: imklog 4.6.3, log source = /proc/kmsg started.
Dec 31 19:02:22 amahi rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd" swVersion="4.6.3" x-pid="23094" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] (re)start
Dec 31 19:02:22 amahi yum[22945]: Updated: hda-greyhole-0.9.26-3.i386
when I then try to force reinstall of the greyholew package I get this error:
[root@amahi log]# rpm -Uvh --force /home/jochen/hda-greyhole-0.9.26-3.i386.rpm

I downloaded the rpm, because the online update gives me this error:
[root@amahi log]# rpm -Uvh --force http://www.greyhole.net/releases/rpm/`uname -i`/`rpm -qa hda-greyhole`.rpm

If Greyhole is automatically getting updated, then you must have added the Greyhole repo. By default, Amahi does not upgrade Greyhole.

I recommend going back to the previous Greyhole version and see if that fixes your problems.

it does fix it. when I revert back to the 0.9.25-1 version the problem is fixed. as soon as it then goes to 0.9.26-3 version the symlinks are broken.

for now I will just turn of the automatic updates in the repo.

There is a new version, 0.9.26-4 on the Greyhole web site. I just installed and seems to be working.

[root@amahi jochen]# ls -l /usr/lib*/samba/vfs/greyhole.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 37 Dec 31 20:20 /usr/lib/samba/vfs/greyhole.so -> /usr/lib/greyhole/greyhole-samba35.so
[root@amahi jochen]# rpm -q hda-greyhole
hda-greyhole-0.9.26-4.i386
[root@amahi jochen]#
