Amahi 7 release and rebuild

Postby msstatecoletrain » Wed May 22, 2013 9:05 am

I keep hearing news about Amahi 7. Is there any updated release date on this? The last thing I saw said early 2013 and we're past that. I'm looking forward to the new release!!!

My reason for asking is I am looking at rebuilding my Amahi 6 server from a power hungry P4 to a more efficient i3/atom. I would hate to do all that work and then Amahi 7 is released and I have to re-format again. Also I'm looking for any hardware suggestions for a new build??

I am unsure of when Amahi 7 will be ready, but should be soon. I would say in the next few weeks, mid Jun 2013 is my guess. With the latest ALPHA release, we are almost ready.

Only missing piece is the GUI for Greyhole, which will be an app eventually. Greyhole can still be configured and used manually, but the GUI has been pulled out of the platform as we have done for SSH and OpenVPN.

You do not need a super fast machine for Amahi unless you plan on doing a lot of media streaming. Even then, what you currently are looking at using should be fine.

sweet thanks! I'm looking forward to the new features and what-not of Amahi 7. it seem to be a little different than 6.2. Thanks for the suggestion.
