I have this running on my WHS box so would love to get it going on my HDA. Very much looking forward to this.

I'm pretty pleased with the functionality and stability of this app on my HDA. It's been functioning for about a month without problems. The ti-in with Sabnzbd was the most complex part of it but once that is done, all has been well and the way it downloads latest episodes is really good. There seem to be a lot of updates which have been relatively minor although some recent UI improvements.

What's the future for this app in HDA as I would miss it if it was removed?

I completely agree!

Having rebuilt my hda recently and installing sickbeard again, I noticed that the few permission issues it had saving config and allowing sabnzbd to use it's postprocessing straight from sick beards install location are now gone.
No more having to change permissions on folders to get it up and running properly.

Just install and run update from terminal then link with sabnzb and and your off!
The new UI is a welcome improvement and it's definitely stable on my hda.

what are the chances of being added as a tester for this, sabnzbd + sickbeard was one of the main reasons for buying my server.

Just noticed that there is an update for Sickbeard out today which has an error in it. I think the developers have fixed it so if you do get errors, a manual update (service sickbeard update) followd by an HDA reboot fixed the problem for me.

ive just installed sickbeard today. Im getting this error on opening the app.

Code: Select all

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request. Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/hdauser/.sickbeard/cherrypy/_cprequest.py", line 660, in respond File "/home/hdauser/.sickbeard/cherrypy/lib/encoding.py", line 193, in __call__ File "/home/hdauser/.sickbeard/cherrypy/_cpdispatch.py", line 25, in __call__ File "/home/hdauser/.sickbeard/sickbeard/webserve.py", line 1303, in index File "/home/hdauser/.sickbeard/sickbeard/webserve.py", line 65, in __init__ File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/Cheetah/Template.py", line 1267, in __init__ self._compile(source, file, compilerSettings=compilerSettings) File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/Cheetah/Template.py", line 1554, in _compile self._fileMtime = os.path.getmtime(file) File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/genericpath.py", line 54, in getmtime return os.stat(filename).st_mtime OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/hdauser/.sickbeard/data/interfaces/default/home.tmpl'
Is the the error you were talking about. How can it be fixed.

I think I had to install some dependencies before I could get Sickbeard to work correctly. Also think you might need to change permissions in the app folders for you to access it correctly. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Code: Select all

[root@dtserver dtgreat]# /etc/init.d/sickbeard update Stopping Sick Beard Downloading Sick Beard Backing-up Sick Beard mv: cannot stat `html/sickbeard.db': No such file or directory mv: cannot stat `html/config.ini': No such file or directory Updating Sick Beard

Is what I get after trying to remedy a 503. Does anyone have a test config I can push, I don't know why I don't have a DB file existing. :|
