Hi there at Amahi forums,
I use Loganalyzer Version 3.2.2 on Amahi/F14. Unfortunately I forgot my Admin-Password for the LogAnalyzer login. I changed the default admin password according to the suggestion in the Amahi wiki. So I deinstalled and reinstalled Loganalyzer hoping to reset the admin user password to its default value, but this was without success. I am stuck now and wonder if there is way to reset the password to default, perhaps with a manipulation in the Loganalyzer MySQL database or in some config files?
Perhaps someone has a hint for me?
Best regard,

Re: LogAnalyzer: How to reset admin password?
Hello,
The problem is when you uninstall and then reinstall, it picks up the backup of the database. By default, Amahi 6 backs up your database on uninstall. Many apps have code that restores the latest database backup for you. Nice feature, but in your case it is causing issues.
What you need to do is navigate to /var/hda/dbs and remove all occurrences of the loganalyzer files. This needs to be done after you uninstall the app of course. Then when you reinstall, it will do a fresh database load with the default admin account credentials.
We hope to add an option in the future to make loading the backup database something the user has control over. For now, its automatically controlled for many apps.

Re: LogAnalyzer: How to reset admin password?
Hi Bigfoot65,
thank you very much for the hint, it worked fine
First I uninstalled the LogAnalyzer App. Afterwards in my Fedora root user account I navigated to /var/hda/dbs and removed there all files containing the word Loganalyzer in its file names. Then I made a fresh installation of Loganalyzer and started Loganalyzer with its default settings. The little downside of this procedure is that I also lost all my individual settings in LogAnalyzer, but that is the price for forgetting the password.
Best regards,

Re: LogAnalyzer: How to reset admin password?
FYI I just updated this app to the latest version. If you uninstall and reinstall, your settings should be restored automatically.

Re: LogAnalyzer: How to reset admin password?
Dear Bigfoot65,
I made the update of LogAnalyzer 3.2.2-->3.2.3 with uninstalling the old and reinstalling the new version. I worked flawlessly, all my settings remain the same
Thanks for the hint!
