Hi,
I use VNC viewer to administer my Amahi and it works great. I have installed Open VPN ALS, and today Clear Budget. Each of these has a link to start the program in the usual format http://budget. But when I try to use these links I get "cannot find the server.." error messages. I can access Open VPN ALS using my dynamic dns "yourhda.com" address with the port number, but why can't I use the link? I cant access clear budget at all
Can't access apps from Amahi
Re: Can't access apps from Amahi
The app needs to be specially configured from command line for access outside your network. Forwarding port 80 will not work with the app unless you modify the app .conf file in /etc/httpd/conf.d directory.
See the wiki for additional guidance.

Re: Can't access apps from Amahi
Obviously I was unclear. I am on the same network, behind the firewall. In addition I am executing the link on the Amahi dashboard page via WebVNC so it is the same machine.
Re: Can't access apps from Amahi
Sorry I misunderstood. That is odd as if you can access them other ways but not via remote. You did say VNC Viewer in the initial post, so are you using that or WebVNC?
Not sure where to even start troubleshooting with this one.

Re: Can't access apps from Amahi
Sorry for the mix up, it is VNC viewer - no, I gave up with ALS as I could access via the Dynamic DNS, but it looks like it is stopping me using other apps as well. I don't know if it helps at all, but with ALS, when I try to access documents with links to localhost, they don't work. It seems like this reference (localhost) is screwed somehow.
Re: Can't access apps from Amahi
Odd scenario. Is there any reason you are using VNC to access apps? If you are in the same network, why not use the web browser from a client machine?
I almost never use VNC. I can do most things with web browser or SSH on my HDA.

Re: Can't access apps from Amahi
I administer the Server from VNC. I can access Amahi from the browser (http://hda. etc). I can access Adito from the web browser using the Dynamic DNS. The hhtp://adito. link doesn't work: "Firefox can't find the server at..." so I don't really have any options.
Re: Can't access apps from Amahi
Hi,
Same here. Somehow I can not make the DNS system to work. I have disabled the Amahi DHCP server, but I still want to have the DNS benefits.
The only way to access the apps is to use the VNC connection to server. From my network I can not use the xxx.home.com or http://xxx links. I just get the page not found stuff...
I have a Zyxel P-661HNU-F1 router, where I can not find an option to point the DNS to amahi IP.
(Most of the thing like DLNA and file sharing works just fine).
Anyone?

I am having the same issue too. Is there no-one on this board who can give us a clue? I think it is DNS stuff, but where to find the answers?
