Transmission bug

Postby bmwmay » Thu Apr 09, 2009 11:44 am

My torrent share is NOT where the app wiki says to create because I have a large external disk that I use for hda storage. The hda drive is relatively small and I do not wish to dl torrents to it. I changed the transmission preferences to point to the torrent share and nothing works. I just get permission denied. I have tried it on an xp client and directly on the hda and get the same result. What are the best torrent clients for fedora outside of transmission since this does not work?

we're trying to make the shares and the interaction with the different apps more seamless. no doubt this will help in your situation.

can you clarify what you did precisely? there are two components,

at the desktop (or vnc), transmission is a really good app. there is also utorrent, bittorrent, azureus, etc.

via web, there is torrentflux (which we are transitioning from the old style apps to the new style), and there is also a "better" version (of torrentflux called torrentflux-b4rt.

filing a bug (under the generic "apps" category, since transmission is not there as a project) is probably the best way to address this.
