System Reboot question

Postby surfrock66 » Fri Sep 17, 2010 7:48 am

When I reboot my system, trying to log on with WebVNC fails. I go to the physical computer, and on the screen a prompt for asking for admin password. Once I clear the prompt, I can log into WebVNC. This is the only reason I keep a monitor/keyboard attached to the machine...any thoughts how to make it go away?

Look at the guidance near the bottom of the page here http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/WebVNC. It talks about the keyring issue that you are experiencing.

The only keyring in there is "login.keyring," I thought that was a different deal. There is no default.keyring.

I think login.keyring is the one. Probably need to update the wiki. I turned off the password requirement on mine so don't have to deal with it.

Deleting the keyring file meant now I can't log into my VNC at all. Says invalid password and I'm 100% it's correct; I had been in it all morning.

Right...you have to go into the remote desktop and change the configuration to not ask for a password. Then you should be able to get in.
