Ampache does not work properly with web-apps proxy

I can successfully connect to my Amahi box over the internet.
Jinzora works perfectly from remote computers over the internet but Jinzora will not see my video files so I use Ampache for video.
While Ampache works perfectly over the local LAN, it does not work over the internet.
Every time I try to stream anything, I get presented with way too many username/password boxes. Even when I click the "remember password" box (Windows). Then Media Player tells me it can't find the file.
If I try to select another video (same results with songs), I get the password dialog *again*, and this time Jinzora will give a "server error" that will not go away until I close/re-open the browser and re-log in.
This is happening on Windows-7 with both IE and Firefox.
Has anyone successfully used ampache with web-apps proxy over the internet?
