Password for Transmission

Hi everyone,

I would like to put a password to Transmission. I figured that it is located in:

/usr/share/transmission/web

So, I tried generating a .htaccess/.htpasswd pair in that directory, hoping that it would ask for a password first. Well... it doesn't. I would appreciate any help a lot. Thanks!
