MT-DAAPD possible?

Postby hfxrzw » Sun Jan 24, 2010 10:26 am

Hi, has anyone been able to get mt-daapd to work as an APP? I want to be able to stream to my Airport Express, but don't know all linux options. All advise/experience appreciated!!
Thanks, Rene.

Hi!

Apologies for the late respose.

AmahiTunes is the app that brings in mt-daapd, and iTunes streaming.

However, note that AmahiTunes is being revamped at the moment.

You can definitely install it an run it yourself by hand. you just need to configure things nicely.

You can still install AmahiTunes (though without the web user interface) by providing this yum install command:

Code: Select all

yum -y install amahi-tunes
If you want to run it by hand, here is the default amahi configuration for AmahiTunes is:

Code: Select all

web_root /usr/share/mt-daapd/admin-root port 3689 admin_pw mt-daapd db_dir /var/cache/mt-daapd mp3_dir /var/hda/files/music servername AmahiTunes runas mt-daapd extensions .mp3,.m4a,.m4p,.ogg,.flac logfile /var/log/mt-daapd.log rescan_interval 600 scan_type 1
My HDA: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz on MSI board, 8GB RAM, 1TBx2+3TBx1

Thanks, I'll give that a try. And the other part - streaming to an aiport express. Can you still do that then? Thanks, Rene.
